Understanding Earnings Calls

This week I did not actively perform many trades. However, I have been keeping myself current on news headlines and the market.  I also attended the Zolio webinar on Tuesday, which helped me gain a better understanding of how to listen to an earnings call. In addition to hearing about the revenue, cost, and earnings patterns, the key takeaway from an earnings call is to understand the underlying business and industry of the company and the factors that cause growth in revenues and costs.
